Nasir El-Rufai, former Governor of Kaduna State, has instituted a N1 billion fundamental rights enforcement suit against Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) following what he described as unlawful invasion of his residence in Abuja.
Gatekeepers News reports that the suit, filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja and marked FHC/ABJ/CS/345/2026, was submitted through his legal team led by Oluwole Iyamu.
El-Rufai is asking the court to set aside the search warrant issued by a magistrate court in the Federal Capital Territory on February 4, which granted ICPC officials the authority to conduct a search and seize items from his home.
According to the former Governor, the operation violated his fundamental rights, prompting him to seek judicial intervention to nullify the warrant and obtain compensation for the alleged breach.
