Tinubu Renews Tenure Of 3 Permanent Secretaries

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the extension of tenure for three permanent secretaries in Federal Civil Service, allowing them to remain in office for another four years.

Gatekeepers News reports that the decision was announced on Friday in a statement issued by Eno Olotu, director of information and public relations in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

According to the statement, the extension applies to Kachallom Shangti Daju of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Beatrice Jedy-Agba, the solicitor-general and permanent secretary in the Federal Ministry of Justice, and Mary Ada Ogbe of the Ministry of Regional Development.

The presidency said the renewed tenure represents the second and final four-year term permitted under the public service rules. The extension will take effect from April 27, 2026.

Officials explained that the move complies with Public Service Rule (PSR) 020909, which allows permanent secretaries to serve an initial four-year tenure and, subject to satisfactory performance, receive one additional four-year term.

Reacting to the development, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, congratulated the affected officials and urged them to see the renewed appointment as a call to greater commitment and improved service delivery within their ministries.
