Two Ghanaian nationals have been injured after drones crashed near Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates.

Gatekeepers News reports that according to Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the incident occurred on Wednesday when two drones fell close to the airport, leaving four people injured.

The victims include two Ghanaians, one Bangladeshi, and one Indian national. The Ghanaian and Bangladeshi victims reportedly suffered minor injuries, while the Indian national sustained moderate injuries.

Officials in Ghana confirmed that the country’s embassy in the UAE is in contact with the injured citizens and is monitoring their medical treatment. The government also condemned the attack and described it as a serious threat to civilian safety.

Dubai authorities said emergency teams responded quickly to the scene and provided medical assistance to those affected. Despite the incident, flight operations at Dubai International Airport were not significantly disrupted, and services continued after safety checks.

The drone incident is linked to the ongoing regional conflict involving Iran, which has led to a series of missile and drone attacks across parts of the Gulf, disrupting aviation and raising security concerns in the region.

Reports indicate that falling drone debris caused the injuries, while authorities continue investigations into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
