The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says the new Court of Appeal of Nigeria complex under construction in Abuja will be completed in May 2026.

Gatekeepers Newreports that Wike disclosed this on Thursday after inspecting the project alongside newly built judges’ quarters during a tour of ongoing infrastructure projects across the FCT.

According to the minister, contractors handling the court complex have assured the administration that the project will be delivered within the scheduled timeline.

He added that the judges’ residential quarters, including those designated for the Federal High Court of Nigeria, have already been fully furnished and are ready for occupation.

Wike said the housing project comprises 10 duplexes for Federal High Court judges, 20 duplexes for judges of the FCT High Court, and another 10 duplexes for justices of the Court of Appeal.

The minister noted that the facilities are expected to be inaugurated during the third anniversary of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

During the inspection tour, Wike also visited a major road project in Katampe, which he described as functioning like a ring road within the capital city.

Explaining his frequent inspections of ongoing projects across the territory, the minister said the visits reflect his commitment to delivering on the responsibilities entrusted to him by the president.

“For the President to have confidence in you and give you an assignment, you have no choice but to be committed to the job,” Wike said.
