Court Orders Final Forfeiture Of Uk Property Linked To Jeremiah Useni

Court Court

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of a United Kingdom property connected to the estate of the late former Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Gen. Jeremiah Useni (rtd.), to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Gatekeepers News reports that delivering the ruling on Tuesday, Justice Binta Nyako held that the suit filed by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) was meritorious and supported by credible evidence showing that the property in question was acquired with proceeds of unlawful activities.

The property, located in Neasden, London, had been under scrutiny amid competing claims, including from legal interests tied to Senior Advocate Mike Ozekhome. The court’s ruling permanently transfers ownership of the asset to the Federal Government.

The forfeiture follows earlier legal proceedings in which the court set dates to determine the final status of the London property after the CCB sought to recover it as part of anti-corruption enforcement actions.

With the judgment, the property is now permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.
