Offset has been hospitalised after sustaining gunshot wounds in a shooting incident outside a casino in South Florida on Monday evening.
Gatekeepers News reports that representatives for the 34-year-old artist confirmed he is in stable condition and receiving medical care.
“We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care,” a spokesperson said in a statement released late Monday. “He is stable and being closely monitored by medical professionals.”
The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on April 6 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, just outside Miami.
According to the Seminole Police Department, the shooting broke out in the valet area of the facility. Emergency responders arrived promptly, and the rapper was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment.
Police said the injuries sustained were non-life-threatening.
“Seminole Police were on site immediately, and the situation was contained quickly,” the department said.
Authorities added that two individuals have been detained in connection with the shooting, although their identities and a possible motive have not yet been disclosed.
Casino officials confirmed that the premises remained open after the incident and assured the public that there is no ongoing threat.
Offset, a founding member of the hip-hop trio Migos, rose to prominence alongside his cousins Quavo and the late Takeoff. The group is widely credited with popularising the “triplet flow” that helped shape modern trap music.
Beyond music, Offset’s personal life has drawn significant public attention, particularly his relationship with Cardi B. The pair, who share three children, had a highly publicised marriage before eventually separating.
The shooting has sparked reactions across the hip-hop community, with fans expressing shock while wishing the rapper a quick recovery. The incident also comes years after the 2022 killing of Takeoff, a loss Offset has previously described as deeply painful.
Investigations into the shooting are ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
