Ogboni Fouad Oki has congratulated Hon. Pastor Cornelius Oyefolu Ojelabi on his birthday, describing him as a servant-leader, grassroots mobiliser and statesman whose life has been defined by integrity, humility and commitment to public service.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a birthday tribute issued on Friday, Oki reflected on Ojelabi’s journey from his birth in Ese Ofin, a riverine community in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State, to becoming a prominent political and religious figure.
He recalled that their relationship began in 1996 during the political activities that led to Ojelabi’s emergence as the Grassroots Democratic Movement (GDM) flag bearer in Ojo LGA, noting that what started as a political alliance later developed into a brotherly bond built on shared values and commitment to the development of their people.
Oki said despite periods when they pursued different paths, they had always reunited whenever the interests of the people required collective action, adding that the last five years had seen them work closely through difficult challenges in pursuit of the common good.
He praised Ojelabi as a teacher, mentor, pastor and bridge builder who promotes unity, consensus and inclusion, while commending his dedication to service above personal interest.
According to Oki, Ojelabi’s life demonstrates that true greatness is achieved through sacrifice, perseverance, integrity and unwavering faith in God.
He prayed for God to grant the celebrant continued good health, wisdom, strength, peace and greater opportunities to serve, while expressing confidence that Ojelabi’s influence and legacy would continue to grow across Lagos State and Nigeria.
Oki concluded by wishing Ojelabi a happy birthday and describing his life as a shining example of faith, courage, compassion and selfless service to humanity.
