JAMB – WAEC Introduce One-Time Verification For WASSCE Results

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) have introduced a one-time verification system for candidates using WASSCE results for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions.

Gatekeepers News reports that the new arrangement, candidates will pay a ₦4,000 verification fee to have their WAEC results authenticated for admission purposes. Once verified, the result will not require repeated verification for subsequent admission processes, according to reports.

The initiative is aimed at simplifying the admission process and reducing the repeated verification of candidates’ O’Level results by institutions.

The system is expected to strengthen collaboration between JAMB and WAEC while helping tertiary institutions confirm the authenticity of candidates’ WASSCE results.

The development also comes as Nigerian institutions increasingly rely on digital systems for admission processing and verification of academic credentials.

The new arrangement applies to candidates presenting WASSCE results as part of requirements for admission through the JAMB process.
