President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Paris, France, to continue his three-week annual leave after spending the first part of his vacation in London, United Kingdom.
Gatekeepers News reports that Tinubu arrived in the French capital on Sunday and was received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Emmanuel Ayodele Oke. His movement to France marks the second phase of the European trip, which began with his departure from Abuja on August 30.
The Presidency had described the trip as a “working vacation”, with officials saying Tinubu would remain engaged with important national matters while away from Nigeria.
At the beginning of the leave, presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga said London would be the president’s first destination before he proceeded to other parts of Europe.
“His first stop will be London, United Kingdom,” Onanuga said.
Another presidential aide, Sunday Dare, said Tinubu would continue to receive briefings from ministers, service chiefs and other government officials during the vacation.
“He will be engaged with state matters on a daily basis,” Dare said.
Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after completing the three-week break. The Presidency had earlier said he would resume his activities and join preparations for the January 2027 general election after his vacation.
