2027 Election: YARI – Tinubu’s Campaign DG – Visits Emir Of Zazzau

With fewer than 100 days to Nigeria’s 2027 general election, political consultations are gaining momentum nationwide, as key political figures meet with influential stakeholders on regional balancing, national unity, and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

In Zaria, Kaduna State, the Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Umar Nuhu Bamalli, received Senator Abdul’Aziz Yari, Director-General of President Tinubu’s re-election campaign, at the Emir’s palace for consultations on the country’s political future and the need to sustain a balance between Northern and Southern Nigeria.

The meeting focused on strengthening national cohesion, promoting political inclusion, and building consensus around President Tinubu’s ambition for a second term ahead of the 2027 polls.

The engagement also highlighted the importance of fostering mutual understanding across regional lines and ensuring that questions of political representation, equity and national interest remain central to discussions about Nigeria’s democratic future.

As political alignments continue to evolve ahead of the elections, traditional institutions remain significant platforms for dialogue and engagement with political leaders and other stakeholders on issues affecting national stability and peaceful coexistence.

Senator Yari’s visit to the Emir underscores ongoing efforts by the President’s political allies to consult influential traditional rulers and political figures as they seek to broaden support for his re-election campaign.

The delegation accompanying Senator Yari included former Kano State Governor and former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje; former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole; former Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema; former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Ahmad Sani Yerima; Hon. Ibrahim Masari; Edo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Kassim Afegbua; and Hon. Lawal Abass, among other prominent political figures.

The consultations come amid preparations for the 2027 general election, with political actors increasingly engaging stakeholders across the country on regional representation, party alignments and the prospects for building broader political coalitions.

As the campaign gains momentum, national unity, political inclusion, and regional balance are expected to remain prominent themes in discussions around the President’s re-election bid.
