Uche Nwosu, Rochas Okorchas’ son-in-law, was whisked away by gunmen from St. Peters Anglican Church in Nkwerre, Imo state during a church service.
Gatekeepers News reports that Nwosu, a former governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in Imo in the 2019 governorship election, who was at the church with his family, was picked up by gunmen who stormed the place in an Armoured Personnel Carrier and Hilux vans.
The gunmen shot multiple times before taking him away.
Report of the incident is still sketchy as so some witnesses claimed that he was arrested while others alleged he was arrested in a plot made by the state governor, Hope Uzodinma.
The State Commissioner for Information and strategy, Declan Emelumba, has distanced Governor Uzodinma from the incident, saying it was “ridiculous” to allege that the governor had a hand in the disappearance of Nwosu.
Emelumba, however, did not confirm if Nwosu was arrested or kidnapped.
Although, the police spokesperson for the command Micheal Abattam, said that he was not aware of the incident.
He promised to inform the public once he was briefed by security operatives in whose division the incident happened.
This is a developing story…
