A -30 -year- old housewife, Cynthia Olukiowu, has been arrested for stabbing one Habeeb Aremu, an 18-year- old nephew of her husband to death over a broken mirror.
Gatekeepers News reports that the woman was arrested on Saturday by policemen attached to Agbado Divisional Headquarters, Ogun State, after they received calls that a boy had been stabbed on the neck by his uncle’s wife.
The deceased, reportedly slumped and died after the woman pulled a kitchen knife to stab him on the neck because a misunderstanding between the them led to the demange of a mirror being used in the house.
Ogun Police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed these to newsmen on Sunday.
Oyeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said the Divisional Police Officer for Agbado division, Kehinde Kuranga, led detectives to the scene and arrested the woman.
The police spokesperson said the victim was found in a pool of his blood and rushed to a hospital but confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
According to him, his corpse was deposited at Ifo general hospital mortuary for autopsy.
The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
