Management of Somolu Local Government Area, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria in its 2022 Budget retreat tagged “Budget of Rejuvenation and Sustainable Development,” has declared its goal to achieve growth.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Local Government held her Budget Retreat on Monday, following the outcome of the recent Budget Stakeholders meeting held in December 2021.
The Council Chairman, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu said the budget is aimed at achieving immense growth and development for the local government.
He added that the essence of the Budget Retreat is to rub minds and deliberate on government plans and programs for the year 2022.
Salawu charged the HODs of Health and Education departments to do more even as they have been doing well in the past few years.
He said sporting activities, awards/recognition for exceptional school pupils more educational programmer are things he’s concentrating in 2022.
Similarly, he made known his interest for more funds to be available at the health department, adding that he is planning to provide food and drugs for pregnant women while babies of six months old will be fed with adequate nutritional foods for six months, upon completion of breast-feeding.
In her closing remarks, the Council-Manager of Somolu Local Government, Arinola Shodipo, urged the Area Officers and Revenue Chiefs to work together in ensuring the Budget and Planning is realized as deliberated upon which will be relying on the funds available in the coffer of the local government.
