Ramsey Tokunbo Nouah Jr. is a Nigerian actor and director.

Gatekeepers News reports Nouah is a recipient of the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor.

Early Life

Ramsey Nouah was born in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria on December 19, 1970, to an Israeli Jewish father and a Yoruba mother who hails from Owo, Ondo State, Southwest Nigeria.

He grew up Lagos and attended Atara Primary School and Community Grammar School. Before pursing a career in acting, Nouah received a diploma in Mass Communications at the University of Lagos.

Early Career 

Nouah started acting in the early 1990s. His acting career kicked off when he starred as Jeff Akin-Thomas in the Nigerian TV soap opera Fortunes. He has since appeared in numerous films and is well known for his “Lover-Boy” role in romantic films.

In 2015, Nouah secured the rights for a possible remake of the 1992 movie Living in Bondage. In 2018, he announced the title of the remake Living in Bondage: Breaking Free, which was released on November 8, 2019. Nouah made his directorial debut through the film and it won 7 awards at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

He also went on to direct Nollywood classic Rattle Snake: The Ahanna Story which is a remake of Rattlesnake (1995).

Personal Life 

Nouah is married to Emelia Philips-Nouah. They have two sons (Quincy Nouah and Joshua Nouah), and one daughter (Desiree Nouah).
