Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) has dedicated USA and Argentina victory to Sound Sultan.
Gatekeepers News reports that the D’Tigers of the Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) has honoured late singer, Sound Sultan, by dedicating their United States and Argentina wins to him.
Sound Sultan’s death was announced on Sunday, July 11 by his family in a statement which revealed that the singer died after battling rare cancer – Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma.
This was on the same day D’Tigers defeated the United States in an exhibition game ahead of Tokyo Olympic Games.
Gatekeepers News earlier reported that the team also defeated Argentina who are ranked fourth-best team in the world in another exhibition game played on Monday, July 12.
NBBF after the games, took to their official social media platform to honour Sound Sultan who was passionate about basketball and did his best to support sports.
NBBF tweeted, “We dedicate the victories against US & Argentina to late Olanrewaju Fasasi (@Soundsultan). You saw this day coming when Nigeria would become a dominant force in global basketball. Ironically, the day we won against @usabasketball, that was when you gave up the ghost. RIP.”
