Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Rise By 159

Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control (NCDC) says 159 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) have been recorded in 7 states across the federation and the country’s capital.

Gatekeepers News reports that NCDC in its record for Thursday, July 1, disclosed that these states include Lagos, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Ogun, Ekiti, FCT, Delta, and Kwara.

Lagos state has the highest number of records which is 119, while Akwa Ibom has 19, and Rivers recorded 11 new cases.

Other states with infection records are Ogun (5), Ekiti (2), FCT (1), Delta (1), and Kwara (1).

NCDC through this record showed that the country has summed up to a total number of 169,074 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The national public health institute noted that 6 states reported that 0 cases were recorded and these states include, “Sokoto, Kano, Oyo Ondo and Kaduna”

The total number of discharged cases was recorded to be 164,652.

Meanwhile, the number of death recorded increased by 1, leaving the total number of death cases at 2,126.
