The eagerly awaited decision of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) is scheduled for Wednesday, 6th September 2023.
Gatekeepers News reports that Umar Bangari, the Court of Appeal Registrar, confirmed that the proceedings would be accessible for live broadcast by interested television networks.
Multiple parties, including the Labour Party (LP), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), along with their respective presidential candidates, filed petitions with the tribunal, seeking to invalidate President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.
In addition to the presidential tribunal, judgements are also anticipated from election tribunals in 25 states, addressing petitions related to governorship, National Assembly, and state assembly elections.
These legal challenges contest the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in approximately 25 states out of the 28 where elections took place.
