In a tragic incident, a Nigerian Army aircraft has mistakenly bombed Tudun Biri village in Kaduna State during a Maulud celebration.
Gatekeepers News reports that the incident is said to have occurred around 9pm on Sunday, and the accident resulted in numerous casualties.
The Kaduna state government acknowledged the unintended attack, stating that it has received briefings from security forces on the attack which is said to have left an unknown number of citizens dead and many others injured.
In a meeting presided over by Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe, with security forces, religious leaders, and traditional heads, the Nigerian Army explained the circumstances that led to the unintended attack.
Major General VU Okoro, the General Officer Commanding One Division of the Nigerian Army, explained that the Nigerian Army was on a routine mission against terrorists before its operations inadvertently caused collateral damage to the community.
