The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the introduction of the electronic Central Motor Registry (e-CMR) portal, an upgraded information system aimed at enhancing safety and national security.

Gatekeepers News reports that on Sunday , the Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed this launch on the NPF’s official X account.

The e-CMR is designed to streamline vehicle registration processes, improve law enforcement capabilities, and contribute to the safety and well-being of citizens.

The comprehensive system facilitates efficient tracking of stolen vehicles, maintains an accurate database, prevents vehicle-related crimes, and deters criminals from re-registering stolen vehicles.

Individuals and corporate bodies can register through the official website at cmris.npf.gov.ng. The Police emphasize their commitment to public welfare and assure a professional and well-notified enforcement of the e-CMR.

“To register for the e-CMR, individuals and corporate bodies can visit the official website at cmris.npf.gov.ng. The process is user-friendly, and all residents are urged to take advantage of the convenience it offers by completing the registration from the comfort of their homes.

“While appreciating the cooperation of the public in this crucial initiative, the Inspector-General of Police emphasizes that the NPF is committed to ensuring the welfare of the public, and the e-CMR and other applications designed by the police, like Rescue Me App and Police VGS, are vital tools in achieving this goal. The Police acknowledges the concerns about e-CMR enforcement and assures that it would be done in the most professional manner with ample notice for registration by all individuals and corporate bodies. We urge all and sundry to spread awareness about e-CMR for a safer and more secure Nigeria.”
