Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has signed into law the state’s 2024 Appropriation Bill of N225.73 billion.
Gatekeepers News reports that the signing ceremony took place at the Government House in Makurdi on Friday.
Governor Alia commended the Benue State House of Assembly for the smooth passage of the budget.
Alia said the budget aims to sustain the growth and quality of life of the people in the state, describing it as a beacon of hope for job seekers as it will stimulate economic activities in the state.
He added that the 2024 budget targets poverty reduction in rural areas and inclusive healthcare.
Governor Alia pledged to collaborate with stakeholders and involve the political class in the state’s development.
