Monday Okpebholo has emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship primaries in Edo State.
Gatekeepers News reports that he defeated 11 other aspirants in a re-run election with 12,433 votes.
The first contest was declared inconclusive by the ruling party’s leadership, hence the need for a re-run election.
Senator Okpebholo was one of the three winners from last Saturday’s cancelled shadow poll. The final results were announced in Benin by the newly appointed Chairman of the election committee, Bassey Otu, who is also the Governor of Cross River State.
The results were collated from the 18 Local Government Areas.
