Gatekeepers News reports that the Japanese Government is making efforts to commence COVID-19 vaccinations at large-scale venues, in a bid to advance its immunisation approach.
Local media on Sunday reports that the vaccination site in central Tokyo will be opened in May and about 10,000 people will be vaccinated in a single day at the centre.
Gatekeepers News gathered that the centre will be accessible to anyone living and working in Tokyo.
Medically trained staff from Japan’s Self-Defense Forces will also support vaccinations in the Tokyo and Osaka centres.
Meanwhile, the Japanese Government has come under intense criticism for its slow vaccination roll-out as only 1% of its population has been vaccinated, according to a Reuter’s tracker.
Till date, Japan has confirmed a total of 550,000 COVID-19 and 9,761 deaths.
