Gatekeepers News reports that Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has constituted a committee to conduct a safety audit of all NAF operational and engineering units.
The development comes days after the nation’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and 10 other officers died in a crash.
The committee, constituted by Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, consists of serving and retired senior officers.
The committee is expected to analyse safety reports from operational and engineering units, conduct safety evaluation of NAF units and recommend measures to enhance the safety of operations in the units.
Gatekeepers News reports that the committee is also to liaise with unit operational and technical personnel for views, observations and contributions on safety measures.
The report of the committee chaired by Air Vice Marshal Abraham Adole, the Deputy Theatre Commander, Operation HADIN KAI, is to be submited by June 18, 2021.
