Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu yesterday honoured Yeni Kuti on her 60th birthday.
Gatekeepers News reports that Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo- Olu among other top dignitaries attended the 60th birthday of Yeni Kuti, the eldest daughter of Nigeria’s Afrobeat legend and multi-instrumentalist, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
Yeni clocked 60th on Monday, May 24, 2021, and her birthday celebration held at the Shrine in Alausa Ikeja, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
The sexagenarian, radiant in her beautifully styled grey-coloured hair, was celebrated by friends, family members and media moguls.
Gatekeeper News reports that the ever-genetic mother and grandma, who is a co-host of a popular breakfast show ‘Your View’ also got a car gift from the fans of the TV show.

Yeni was born on May 24, 1961, in London, United Kingdom (UK) by Remilekun Anikulapo-Kuti (née Taylor), a British-born woman of Nigerian and African American heritage.
Yeni’s grandmother was Nigerian women’s rights activist Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, the first Nigerian woman to drive a car.
After Fela died in 1997, Yeni conceptualised Felabration in 1998 to celebrate and honour the memory of her late father. Felabration has since become an annual music festival.
