COVID-19: 50% Of U.S Adults Vaccinated – CDC

Fifty percent of United States adults have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

Gatekeepers News reports that the U.S Centre for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday announced that half of the adults in the country have been fully vaccinated.

CDC’s data showed that 61.3% of American adults have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose and about 49.6% are fully vaccinated.

Although the vaccination rate varies by State as officials continue to warn that COVID-19 continue to spread in communities with lower levels of vaccinations.

Not less than 25 States have fully vaccinated about half of their adult residents.

The States are Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.

The CDC noted that four of those states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont) have fully vaccinated more than half of their total resident population, not just adults.

Gatekeepers News reports that the U.S President, Joe Biden had set a goal of getting at least one shot into the arm of 70% of adults by July 4, 2021.

“This is a major milestone in our country’s vaccination efforts,” said Andy Slavitt, the White House senior advisor in reaction to the development.

Slavitt urged those still in doubt to “do yourself a favour” and talk to a doctor or pharmacist about any concerns on the vaccine.
