Nigeria Records 203 New COVID-19 Cases As Infection Reaches 166518

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 203 new COVID-19 cases.

Gatekeepers News reports that Nigeria has recorded 203 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, 31 May 2021, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the country to 166,518.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily report, said today’s report includes backlog of data from Benue and Nasarawa States recorded from February to May 2021.

According to the report, Benue recorded 178 cases, Lagos-10, Ondo-6, FCT-4, Kaduna-4, while Plateau recorded just one.

Since the outbreak on 27 February 2020, a total of 2,099 persons have lost their lives to the virus while 158,781 have recovered and have been discharged.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,956,598 persons have received the first shot of their jab, while 73,465 of Nigerians vaccinated with 1st dose have collected their 2nd dose.

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) disclosed this in its COVID-19 Vaccination Update for 31 May 2021.
