Barcelona are set to retain Ronald Koeman as their head coach.
Gatekeepers News reports that Ronald Koeman has escaped eviction from Nou Camp after an agreement between the Dutchman and Barcelona President, Joan Laporta.
Laporta announced that the club has decided to continue with him next season,
“After this period of reflection, vice-president Rafael Yuste and myself have agreed that we will continue with the current contract that Ronald Koeman has.
“We are very pleased to see that these talks have borne fruit in a unity of judgment.”
Although last season didn’t go well with the Catalans which initiated suspicions of relieving Koeman of his job, President Laporta has cleared the air by confirming a year deal with the Dutchman, which is a completion of his earlier contract with the club.
Laporta also praised Koeman for his “impeccable behaviour.
“He showed what we already knew, that he is a true professional.
“I’m sure we are going to have a great season.”
He added, “I am comfortable with Koeman and I hope he is comfortable with me. Conversations will lead us to the best solution for Barcelona.”
