French Open: Coco Gauff Shines To Her First Quarterfinal

17-year-old Coco Gauff has shone to her first quarterfinal.

Gatekeepers News reports that Coco Gauff has reached her first Grand Slam quarterfinal with an efficient and deeply impressive straight win.

Following Serena Williams’ shocking defeat to 21-year-old Elena Rybakina, Gauff has proven that there is a future in tennis for American women.

The 17-year-old served superbly with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Ons Jabeur on Monday.

She was highly effective at the net, and lost just nine points on her serve, winning 13 out of 17 points when she came forward. This was particularly remarkable against a player who is known for her shot-making skills.

Gauff said, “I feel like this has been the most consistent tennis I have played at this level, … Hopefully, I can keep that going.”

She also had a quick match in the previous round, when her counterparts, Jennifer Brady retired with an injured left foot after Gauff won the opening set.
