Gatekeepers News reports that unseeded Barbora Krejcikova has defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova to win her first grand slam title at the Roland Garros.
Although the Czech and the Russian were first-time slam finalists, the 25-year-old from Brno, however, came out on top to win 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 on Court Philippe Chatrier.
Krejcikova, ranked 33, has stood out as a hugely surprising champion even in this unpredictable era in the women’s game.
