Djokovic Defeats Tsitsipas In French Open Final

Novak Djokovic has defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the French Open final.

Gatekeepers News reports that Novak Djokovic has defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas to win his 19th grand slam in the 2021 French Open Men’s final.

Djokovic had recovered from two sets down to beat first-time Grand Slam finalist, Tsitsipas 6-7 (6-8) 2-6 6-3 6-2 6-4.

Top seed Djokovic is a grand slam away from Federer and Nadal’s world record of 20 grand slams.

The world number one, who previously won at French Open in 2016, has become the first man in the Open era to win all four Grand Slams twice since the fully professional Roland-Garros era began in 1968.

The fifth seed Tsitsipas was close to tears as he raised his silver salver to the crowd while they chant his name.

The 34-year-old will have the opportunity to move level with his great rivals, Nadal and Federer, when he defends his 2021 Wimbledon crown which will begin on Monday, 28 June and end on Sunday, 11 July.
