President Muhammadu Buhari granted the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) an exclusive interview on Friday night.

Gatekeepers reports that Buhari spoke about the nation’s economy, insecurity, politics among others during the interview.

On the economy, the President said he is not satisfied with the performance of Nigeria’s economy, noting that this administration is working to increase foreign direct investments in Nigeria.

“I am not satisfied (with the economy). That’s why I’m trying to make sure we persuade foreign countries to allow their multinationals to develop more confidence in Nigeria and come and invest,” he said.

Buhari also said his administration was doing its best to tackle corruption even though Nigerians are ‘ungrateful’ despite the successes recorded so far.

On insecurity, Buhari vowed to deal with those sponsoring terrorism in the country and dismissed the speculations that his administration goes tough on protesters but treats bandits with care.

“Look at the End Sars protest in Lagos, A former governor bought about 200 buses but they went to burn it. The governor brought the pictures to me and I told him since they burn the buses go and tell them to start walking,” President said adding that “Nigerians are unfair, go and ask the governor of Sokoto, Kaduna and others. Look at how they have mobilised police and military to deal with the bandits.”

He expressed optimism that the APC would win the 2023 presidential election to continue to rule the nation.

The President noted that the recent APC registration and revalidation exercise was to position the party for better performance.
