United States President, Joe Biden and a group of bipartisan senators have agreed on a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill.
Gatekeepers News reports that the group of senators briefed Biden on the infrastructure deal on Thursday.
The Senators on Wednesday announced that they had reached a deal on a “framework” for an infrastructure spending bill and planned to discuss it with Biden.
“We have a framework, and we’re going to the White House tomorrow (Thursday),” Utah Sen. Mitt Romney said.
After the meeting which lasted for about 32 minutes on Thursday, Biden who was surrounded by the Senators outside the West Wing told reporters that: “We have a deal.”
“We made serious compromises on both ends,” the president said, thanking each of the senators. “They have my word, I’ll stick with what we’ve proposed, and they’ve given me their word as well.”
Gatekeepers News reports that the deal must, however, pass both chambers, including the Senate, where it will face a 60-vote threshold. This implies that Democrats must hold all 50 of their votes, and five more GOP senators must support the bill.
