Buhari Allocates Houses To AFCON ’94 Squad

President Muhammadu Buhari has allocated houses to the Super Eagles 1994 squad.

Gatekeepers News reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the allocation of houses to the Super Eagles squad who won the 1994 AFCON tournament in Tunisia.

The Presidential Spokesman, Garba Shehu, announced this development in a statement on Thursday.

Shehu said the approval came on the back of a memo by Minister of Labour and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.

The Spokesman noted that the federal government has approved the allocation in their states of preference.

According to him, six players and three technical crew members have already received their homes.

Unfortunately, three members of the squad, Wilfred Abonavalle, Uche Okafor, Thompson Oriha, and Stephen Keshi have passed on.

The statement read, “Following a memo by Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, the President approved the allocations in their states of preference, noting that six players and three technical crews received their houses already.”

“The players are Peter Rufai, Alloy Agu, Ike Shorounmu, Uche Okechukwu, Samson Siasia, Efan Ekoku, Sunday Oliseh, Benedict Iroha, Isaac Semitoje, Mutiu Adepoju, Emmanuel Amunike, Victor Ikpeba, Austin Eguavoen, and Wilfred Agbonavbare (Deceased).

“Uche Okafor (Deceased), Thompson Oliha (Deceased), Stephen Keshi (Deceased), Christian Chukwu, Dr Akin Amao, Stephen Edema, Col. A Asielue and B. Aromasodun.”

The Clemens Westerhof’s men clinched the AFCON title for the second time for Nigeria through a 2-1 comeback win over Zambia.

Super Eagles won their first AFCON title in 1980 and their last was the 2013 edition which they won in South Africa.
