Top commanders of Boko Haram and the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) have reached a truce after the death of Abubakar Shekau.
Gatekeepers News reports that the former leader of Boko Haram, Shekau blew himself up to avoid being captured during a battle between Boko Haram and ISWAP in Sambisa Forest.
After a month of his death, the army of terrorists belonging to rival extremist groups have reached a truce.
In a 13-minute video obtained by PRNigeria, the fighters were seen individually placing their hands atop one another, while chanting words of solidarity, to demonstrate their reunion, allegiance and togetherness.
Gatekeepers News gathered that they thereafter pledged their allegiance to one Abu Ibrahim Al-Hashimiyil AlKhuraishi, whom they unanimously ordained as ‘Khalifan Muslimai’, translated as “The Leader of all Muslims”.
Four commanders from Boko Haram and ISWAP announced their loyalty. They spoke in Arabic, Hausa, English, and Fulfulde.
One of them, in his remarks, confirmed Nigeria intelligence services played a major role in creating divisions in their camps, saying “the enemies succeeded in dividing us, but we are now back.”
Another thanked Khuraishi for bringing the two rivals together, assuring that he and his colleague-insurgents will not flout his orders and commandments.
An ISWAP fighter, with a rifle on his neck, declared: “What is left now is Jihad. We will not stop fighting the unbelievers. All the disbelievers have entered trouble.”
