Zamfara Senator Defects From PDP

Senator Hassan Gusau has defected from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Gatekeepers News reports that Senator representing Zamfara Central Senatorial District, Hassan Gusau has disclosed his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday.

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, read Gusau’s letter which informed the house of his action at the plenary.

According to the letter, Gusau attributed his defection to the alleged factionalisation and infighting in the PDP’s camp at Zamfara State.

Although the Senator failed to confirm if he will be pitching his tent with the All Progressives Congress, he noted that he will make the decision of his new party known soon.

On Monday, Gatekeepers News reported that the Governor of Zamfara state, Bello Matawalle joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It was earlier rumoured that Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Peter Nwaoboshi, has concluded plans to cross over from the PDP to the APC.

However, Nwaoboshi is yet to release an official message to debunk or affirm this.
