Haiti Prosecutors To Grill PM Over Link To Jovenel Moise Death
Haiti’s security operatives have killed four and arrested two suspected killers of President Jovenel Moise.

Gatekeepers News reports that Moise was killed at his private residence in the hills above Port-au-Prince on Wednesday by a group of unidentified individuals who were reportedly speaking Spanish.

The first lady, Martine Moise who is in critical condition after she suffered bullet wounds, had been evacuated to Miami for treatment.

Giving an update, the Police General Director Leon Charles described the four people killed as “mercenaries” and said that security forces were locked in a fierce gun battle with the men.

“The police are engaged in a battle with the assailants,” he said at a news conference, noting that the authorities were still in pursuit of some suspects.

“We are pursuing them so that, in a gunfight, they meet their fate or in gunfight they die, or we apprehend them.”

Gatekeepers News reports that Haitian ambassador to the United States, Bocchit Edmond said the gunmen were well-trained “foreign mercenaries” and said they had masqueraded as U.S Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents as they entered Moise’s guarded home under cover of darkness.

The Haitian government has declared a two-week state of emergency to help it find the assassins.
