JUST IN: We Have Not Suspended Okorocha – APC

All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied the purported suspension of Rochas Okorocha describing it as fake.

Gatekeepers News reports that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has debunked the widely reported suspension of former Imo State Governor and Senator of the Federal Republic, Rochas Okorocha by many news organisations (not Gatekeepers News) and regarded the report as “fake”.

The purported two-page letter of suspension with reference number APC/NHDQ/SP/19/022/41 dated July 12, 2021, was titled: “Re: Notification of your suspension from the All Progressives Congress (APC) for gross anti-party.”

The letter which was addressed to Okorocha was purportedly signed by APC Caretaker Chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni, and Secretary, Senator John Akpanudoehede.

APC Secretary, Senator Akpanudoehede, while denying the allegation in a chat with The Nation said, “The letter is fake. It is not from us (APC). My signature was forged. The signature on that letter is copy and paste.”

Similarly, a former Imo Governorship aspirant Senator Ifeanyi Araraume has denied claims he joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ararume Destiny Group debunked this in a statement signed by Stanley Nzekwe, on Tuesday, adding that the report was untrue.

The report earlier stated that Araraume and Okorocha had defected to PDP because of the face-off between them and Imo Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

Nzekwe in the statement maintained that those behind Araraume’s defection rumour are political enemies threatened by his weight and influence in Imo politics.

The group, however, vowed that Araraume would never leave APC because “he is one of the pioneer members and builders of the party in Imo State.”
