Convener of Revolution Now, Omoyele Sowore has been arrested during the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed separatist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Gatekeepers News reports that Sowore a former Presidential candidate, was arrested at the Federal High Court in Abuja, the nation’s capital, over an altercation he had with police officers stationed at the entrance of the court.
He had made an attempt to enter the court with a cameraman after the Department of State Services (DSS) enlisted only 10 journalists to cover the court proceedings.
Sowore was taken to a police van temporarily alongside some IPOB supporters who were earlier arrested at the court premises.
Meanwhile, Kanu is facing charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, unlawful possession of firearms, and management of an unlawful society.
