Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases continue the upward trend as 535 new infections were announced on Wednesday.
Gatekeepers News reports that the five persons died of complications while 49 COVID-19 patients recovered and have been discharged from various isolation centres in the country.
This, was contained in the data released by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on the Coronavirus outbreak.
Breakdown of the new infections which were reported in 18 States is as follows; Lagos-219, Akwa Ibom-142, Oyo-47, Rivers-17, Jigawa-13, Edo-13, Ekiti-11, Bayelsa-11, Ondo-10, Osun-9, Plateau-8, Ogun-7, Kaduna-7, Kano-5, FCT-5, Imo-4, Gombe-4 and Nasarawa-3.
“Today’s report includes: Data from Oyo State recorded over the last two days. Deaths reported from Akwa Ibom State for the 26th of July, 2021. 0 cases reported from Sokoto State,” the NCDC noted.
Gatekeepers News reports that as of July 28, 2021, Nigeria has confirmed a total of 172,263 cases which include 164,886 recoveries and 2,139 deaths across the federation.
