Government Can’t Solve All Problems – RCCG

Redeemed Christian Church of God has said the government can’t solve all problems.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Redeemed Christian Church of God has called for donations to address the healthcare challenges in Nigeria.

The Intercontinental Overseer, Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) of the church, Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, said there is a need for people to put their resources together to support the government’s effort.

Iluyomade said, “There are a wide variety of urgent demands where government support will not be available at all or available in time to meet all the rapidly-changing needs on the ground, hence the need for donations from individuals, philanthropists, and corporations to fill critical gaps and make a tremendous difference. We, therefore, need to bring our resources together, so that we can make a tremendous impact.”

The RCCG through its charity arm, His Love Foundation (HLF), has begun a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for the underprivileged and the needy in society.

In a statement titled ‘HLF launches crowdfunding platform with Insurance benefits and announce donation of new Dialysis Centre to Ogun State’, the organisation said it has spent N18, 444,618,335.97 which has helped over 130,753,857 people across the 36 states of the federation.

According to Iluyomade, the campaign presented an opportunity for people across different cadres of society to help with the challenges people currently face globally, focusing on six important areas.

He stated that “CSR is a matter of life and death and the church has committed itself to giving succor in 6 specific areas of health, education, feeding, social enterprise, rehabilitation, and prisons, so this crowdfunding campaign provides an incredible opportunity for individuals, philanthropists and corporations to take part in ameliorating the suffering of people across the world especially in the midst of the global coronavirus pandemic”.

The statement further noted that the church’s foundation would donate a full-fledged dialysis centre, which would be named Enoch and Folu Adeboye Dialysis Centre, to the Ogun State Government, situated at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Ogun State.

The facility is expected to be commissioned by Governor Dapo Abiodun.
