Tokyo Olympics: Adegoke Made Final But Couldn’t Finish

Although Nigerian athlete, Enoch Adegoke made the final in the men’s 100m at the Olympics, he couldn’t finish.

Gatekeepers News reports that it was a heartbreaking moment for Nigeria as Enoch Adegoke pulled up with an injury at the final of men’s 100m in the Tokyo Olympics on Sunday.

Having become Nigeria’s first 100m Olympic finalist since 1996 by clocking 10.00s in heat 2 of men’s 100m semis, Adegoke chance of earning gold for Nigeria was shattered after the injury.

It was however a bright moment for Marcell Jacobs who becomes the first Italian to win a gold medal in the men’s 100m final in a Personal Best of 9.80, which is a new European record.

USA – Fred Kerley finished second in a PB 9.84 to earn a silver while Andre de Grasse (CAN) earned a bronze in a PB 9.89.
