Gatekeepers News reports that Nigeria has recorded 444 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths on Monday, August 2, bringing the number of confirmed infections in the country to 174,759.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this in its daily report.
In the report, Lagos recorded the highest infections with 275 new cases, while Rivers followed with 63 cases, Akwa Ibom-62, Gombe-22, Ogun-8, FCT-4, Edo-3, and Imo-2.
Other states that recorded one each include: Kano, Nasarawa, Sokoto, Jigawa, and Ebonyi.
NCDC stated that today’s statistics include deaths reported in Lagos State on July 31, 2021.
Since the outbreak on February 27, 2020, a total of 2,160 persons have lost their lives to the virus while 165,037 have recovered and have been discharged.
