Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has promoted and redeployed some of its staff.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on Monday, announced the promotion and redeployment of staff to occupy key positions that were vacant in the corporation.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the corporation’s spokesperson, Dr Kennie Obateru, in Abuja.
NNPC noted that the appointments and redeployments were to strengthen and reposition the corporation towards attaining global excellence and profitability.
The statement stated that Garba Muhammad has been appointed to take over from Obateru as the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, adding that Obateru would be retiring from service in September.
In the same vein, Billy Okoye was appointed as the new Group Executive Director (GED), Ventures & Business Development, while Aisha Ahmadu-Katagum was promoted to the position of the Group Executive Director, Corporate Services.
Okoye and Ahmadu-Katagum until their new appointments were Group General Managers, Crude Oil Marketing Division (COMD), and Supply Chain Management Division respectively at the corporation.
Similarly, the former Chief Operating Officer, Business & Ventures Development, Adeyemi Adetunji has become the Group Executive Director, Downstream.
Also, the Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Services, Mohammed Abdulkabir Ahmed has become the Group Executive Director, Gas, And Power.
The statement further stated that other Chief Operating Officer positions in the corporation were re-designated as Group Executive Directors (GEDs), to align with the rules of the Company And Allied Matters Act (CAMA).
Obateru said this was in preparation for the new status of the NNPC as a limited liability company, post-Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).
The development, however, saw the disengagement of the former Chief Operating Officer, Gas, And Power, Yusuf Usman.
The NNPC’s Spokesperson noted that Group Managing Director of the corporation, Malam Mele Kyari, said the new appointments would enable the NNPC to live up to the expectations of Nigerians and achieve its vision of becoming a world-class energy company of choice.
