Organisers of the Louder Than Life Music Festival say fans, artists, and staff at this year’s festival will be required to get a COVID-19 vaccine or negative test results.
Gatekeepers News reports that Kentucky’s music festival will require attendees to provide proof of vaccination or negative results from a COVID-19 test for the festival scheduled for September 23 to 26 in Louisville.
The festival made this known in an update on its website, noting that the requirements were being put in place to “protect the health of our fans, artists, staff and crew.”
The page which said, “At Louder Than Life, safety is our NUMBER ONE concern,” added that attendees will also be required to wear masks in all indoor areas of the event, regardless of vaccination status: “strongly requests that all fans wear a mask while in the campgrounds or festival grounds.”
Louder Than Life also noted that whoever is interested in attending must be fully vaccinated with the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or the single shot Johnson & Johnson by September 8 for people camping at the event, or September 9 for regular attendees.
In 2020, the music festival was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. It, however, stated that it would be increasing health and safety measures throughout the Highlands Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Expo Center, including the installation of more hand sanitiser stations and additional cleaning crews.
The website added that cashless options will also be available “for convenient check-out at dedicated food, beverage and merch lines.”
The festival said, “We thank you for your patronage, support, and compliancy during these unprecedented times … We are all in this together.”
Meanwhile, other popular festivals scheduled to take place over the next couple of months have announced similar vaccination and testing requirements in recent weeks.
