Britney Spears Under Investigation For Alleged Staff Assault

Britney Spears’ court-appointed lawyer, Samuel Ingham III has declared intention to resign from singer Britney Spears’ conservatorship case. Gatekeepers News reports that Ingham filed documents to resign in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday after Spears's comments in court decrying the legal arrangement that controls her money and affairs. Ingham's resignation would take effect when the court appoints a new lawyer for Spears. “Samuel D. Ingham III hereby resigns as court-appointed counsel for Britney Jean Spears, conservatee, effective upon the appointment of new court-appointed counsel,” the court filings read. Gatekeepers News reports that Ingham has been representing Spears for the entirety of her 13-year conservatorship. In 2008, the court put the arrangement in place, with her father, Jamie Spears, as her sole conservator. Ingham and Spears’ working relationship came into question last month when the singer gave an explosive testimony, calling her conservatorship “abusive” and addressing the court for the first time ever in her 13-year conservatorship. She wished the court would allow her to hire a lawyer of her choice. On Monday, Spears’ longtime manager Larry Rudolph resigned saying he has not been in communication with Spears for over two years and had no involvement with the conservatorship.

Authorities say Britney Spears is currently under investigation for allegedly assaulting her staff.

Gatekeepers News reports that Deputies who attended Spears’ home in Southern California stated that one of the singer’s staff claimed the singer struck her on Monday night.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said the Spears’ staff reported that a dispute had taken place at the singer’s home.

The sheriff’s office noted that no injuries were recorded, adding that reports taken by deputies will be handed over to prosecutors for consideration.

Spears’ attorney, Matthew Rosengart in an email said the investigation is “overblown sensational tabloid fodder – nothing more than a manufactured ‘he said she said’ regarding a cellphone”.

Rosengart who also said “anyone can make an accusation but this should have been closed immediately”, added that there was “no striking and obviously no injury whatsoever”.

The Singer in her quest to seek freedom from her 13 years court conservatorship had hired Rosengart last month.

In court hearings, Spears described the conservatorship as “abusive”.

Rosengart has made it his first priority to remove her father, James Spears, from his role as conservator.

Last week, Gatekeepers News reported that Jamie Spears agreed to relinquish control of her $60m (£43m) estate after overseeing her life and finances since 2008. He, however, did not state when he would do so, stating it would be “when the time is right”.

The Singer has claimed that conservatorship which took total control of her life, stretched to taking medication against her will and being prevented from getting married or having another child.

In a court appearance last month, Britney said she wanted her father charged with conservatorship abuse, and also accused him of ruining her life.
