Six Of The Kidnapped Niger State Islamiyya Students Die In Captivity

Six out of the 136 kidnapped students of Salihu Tanko Islamiyya, Tegina in Rafi local government area of the state, Niger State, have reportedly died in captivity.

Gatekeepers News reports that the students were kidnapped from the Islamic school on May 30.

The school principal, Abubakar Alhassan said the bandits called to notify him about the death of the children.

According to him, the bandits said the children died of illness and asked that the demanded ransom be paid for the release of the remaining children in captivity.

Abubakar Adam, the father of seven of the kidnapped school children, was said to have also confirmed the development.

The bandits had demanded N110 million as ransom but later increased the amount to N200 million.

Gatekeepers News gathered that parents of the abducted students have paid N30 million ransom to the bandits who refused to release the children.
