Gatekeepers News reports that Super Eagles has confirmed that Air Peace has redeemed the N20 million pledge its Chairman promised the team as they prepared to jet out for their second round Group C 2022 World Cup qualifier game.

Although Cape Verde scored first in the game, the Eagles fought back to beat them 2-1 to record their second group win.

Gernot Rohr’s men who flew to and fro Cape Verde in one of Air Peace’s ultramodern Embraer 195-E2 aircraft, received the cheque at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on arrival.

The team while appreciating the gesture in a statement on their Instagram page said: ”We thank our sponsor Air Peace for keeping to their promise. We are motivated to keep the pace and momentum when proceedings resume in October. We meeeuuuve!”

Nigeria is currently topping the group with six points and will take on Central African Republic, in October.
