9mobile has distanced one of its directors, Abdulrahman Ado, from the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s list of terrorism sponsors.
Gatekeepers News reports that the UAE has placed 38 individuals, including 6 Nigerians and 15 entities on its UAE terror financiers’ list.
The names of the Nigerians include Abdurrahaman Ado Musa, which has raised eyebrows after many believed it was the 9mobile director that made the list.
However, 9mobile, in statement signed by its management on Tuesday, clarified that its director Abdulrahman Ado is not the same as Abdurrahman Ado Musa who is listed on the UAE terror list.
“We wishes to inform the general public that the purported news story circulating in sections of the media mistaking a certain Abdurrahman Ado Musa who is allegedly reported to be a designated terror financier by the UAE is not 9mobile’s Executive Director of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs, Abdulrahman Ado.
“For avoidance of any doubts, 9Mobile’s Executive Director of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs does not bear the name “MUSA”. The resemblance in the name is purely coincidentally.
9mobile’s Abdulrahman Ado is a law-abiding and highly distinguished Nigerian of impeccable character,” the telecom company said.
