Chairman Of Ifelodun LCDA Backs Ajegunle Unity Cup Competition

Executive Chairman Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos, Olufemi Okeowo has supported the Ajegunle Unity Cup Competition.

Gatekeepers News reports that Okeowo has thrown his weight behind the organisers of the Ajegunle Unity Cup competition, tagged “Ifelodun Youth Cup”.

The LCDA Boss disclosed his support when the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) members of the Ajegunle Unity Cup competition paid him a courtesy visit.

The team who officially sold the project to him told him it was for youth in the local council.

Okeowo showered encomiums on the organizers for such a laudable initiative, which he said will go a long way in reshaping and changing the narrative of football not only in Ajegunle but in Nigeria at large.

“This is a very commendable initiative, begins the LCDA chairman. I applaud the organizers of the competition for bringing forward such a germane football fiesta that will be very beneficial to the youths of this local council.

“I want to assure you that you have our total support. This is because it is in line with this administration’s objectives and commitment to youths development and empowerment.

“We believe that when you develop and empower your youths, you have developed the nation”.

In his response, Ambassador Moses Ebahor, who is the president of the LOC, who led the delegation, thanked the hon. Chairman for his kind gesture to support the project.

“We want to appreciate and thank the hon. Chairman for agreeing to support this project.

“This shows that he believes in us and he is genuinely passionate and interested in anything youth’s development and empowerment.

“He has always listened to us whenever we come calling for any assistance from his LGA led board. We say thank you once again for the confidence reposed in us,” he said.

The competition, which is the first of its kind in Ajegunle, is brought to you by Ajegunle Security Summit Committee in conjunction with Mackjus Consultancy Services.

Registration for the football fiesta which is billed to commence from November 18 to December 19, 2021, is N20,000.

It is open to any football club, street, area, academy, or community.
