Fouad Oki Demands List Of Delegates For Lagos Congress

Chairmanship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos State Chapter, Fouad Oki has demanded the full list of delegates who are to participate in the State Congress.

Gatekeepers News reports that Oki made the demand in a letter dated October 12th, 2021 and addressed to the Chairman of the APC National Caretaker Committee.

Oki backed his request with the order pronounced by the Federal High Court of Nigeria on October 6th, 2021, that the Congress should be conducted in 20 local governments recognized by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).

Also, in another letter sighted by Gatekeepers News, Oki urged the party to abide by the judgment of the court “so as not to be in contempt of Court and nullification of the congress.

The State Congress is scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 16th,2021.

DEMAND FOR THE LIST OF DELEGATES FOR LAGOS STATE CONGRESS
The Federal High Court of Nigeria on 6th October, 2021, delivered judgment in the above
suit which I was the Plaintiff.
The Court held that it is only 20 Local Governments that are recognized by the Constitution
of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) and nothing more. The Court also
directed that our great party should not conduct congress in not more than the 245 wards
that makes up the 20 local governments in Lagos State.
In line with the above, I hereby request for the full list of delegates (elected and statutory)
who are to participate in the State Congress scheduled to hold on Saturday 16th October,
2021 in the constitutionally recognized 20 Local Government Areas and 245 wards in Lagos
State.
I shall call on you on Thursday 14th October, 2021 for the collection of the above-subject
matter.

NOTIFICATION OF COURT JUDGMENT
The Federal High Court of Nigeria on 6th October, 2021, delivered judgment in the above
suit which I was the Plaintiff.
The Court held that it is only 20 Local Governments that are recognized by the Constitution
of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) and nothing more. The Court also
directed that our great party should not conduct congress in not more than the 245 wards
that makes up the 20 local governments in Lagos State. this is to the effect that the
congress of our party must be conducted only in the recognized 20 Local Governments and
245 wards in Lagos State. A copy of the judgment is attached for your attention.
Mr. Chairman, in order to avert any crises that may arise from the conduct of the congress
in Lagos State, I strongly advise that we abide by the judgment of the Federal High Court so
as not to be in contempt of Court and nullification of the congress.
